Hilton Head Island Area Hilton Head is internationally known for its pleasant subtropical climate, lush vegetation and wide, gently sloping beaches. The island is home to more than 20 championship golf courses providing the most outstanding golf experience anywhere in the world. There are nearly 300 tennis courts and over 12 miles of white sandy beaches. It is the perfect enviromnent for creating those vacation memories that last a lifetime.

The natural beauty of the island sets Hilton Head apart in a world of its own. Abundant tropical wildlife, lagoons, majestic oaks draped with Spanish moss and the fragrance and colors of flowering trees provide a feeling of paradise. Hilton Head Island Area

Sea Pines Resort includes the areas of Harbour Town and South Beach with three championship golf courses - Harbour Town Golf Links (home of the Verizon Heritage), the Ocean Course and Heron Point. There are several miles of beautiful Atlantic beach and two marinas with deep-water access. Sea Pines is the Island's first planned community, started in the 1950's. Within Sea Pines you will find a 605-acre Forest Preserve, stables with horses available to the public for trail rides, a world class tennis center and fabulous shopping and dining. Ocean and golf oriented rental homes and villas are available.

Shipyard Plantation has three 9-hole golf courses - Clipper, Galleon, and Brigantine. Within the private gates of Shipyard you will find the world class Van der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club. Shipyard is centrally located with easy highway entry, beach access, fishing lagoons, and a plentiful amount of bike paths. Golf oriented rental homes and villas are available.

Folly Field is located approximately two miles north of Palmetto Dunes Resort. This area has been developed with the beach as a focal point. Vacationers and residents love this area of the Island because of the easy beach access and limited car traffic. SeaBreeze vacation rentals manages several villas in this area all priced very reasonably. Putt-putt golf and an arcade are within walking distance, and it's only a short drive to the many championship golf courses, restaurants and shops.

Hilton Head Island Area Palmetto Dunes includes the area of Shelter Cove Harbour and contains three championship golf courses - Arthur Hills, Fazio and Robert Trent Jones. Miles of beach form its longest boundary. Shelter Cove Harbour has outstanding deep-water access from its beautiful marina, waterfront shopping and dining-all with magnificent panoramic views of Broad Creek. Palmetto Dunes has 25 tennis courts, 6 lighted for night play at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center. An interconnected lagoon system throughout the resort offers canoe and kayaking opportunities. South Forest Beach is parallel to the Atlantic Ocean. Beach related activities abound. Within walking distance are a water park, mini golf, shopping, and dining. The Van der Meer Tennis Center is centrally located in the heart of this area. Reasonably priced ocean and near ocean villas are available.

North Forest Beach hugs the ocean along its entire length. Properties in this area either have direct ocean views or are within a 5-minute walk of the beach. Shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainment are all close at hand making this area the most "walker friendly" on the Island.
